President’s Message – May 2023
Even though it has already been a month, I am still ecstatic about RES 2023. For those who were not able to attend, you missed an incredible few days in Vegas. We had more than 4,000 people join us for the event – the largest RES to date. They heard incredible speakers such as actress Tantoo Cardinal and Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, and high-level officials from tribes all the way to the federal government. Attendees had access to sessions and events that covered every aspect of the Native economy – and many of them made lasting connections that will help them in their business journey and empower them for generations.
Thank you for joining us for a fantastic week. And if you missed it, don’t worry – RES 2024 is just around the corner. So save the date for March 11-14, 2024, back at Caesar’s Palace. We’ll be sending information and updates about RES over the next several months, so stay tuned.
Of course, work for The National Center does not begin or end with RES. We have a busy schedule in the coming weeks and months, starting this week at SelectUSA’s Investment Summit in our nation’s capital. I’ll be leading a panel discussion with tribal leaders to discuss trade and investment opportunities across Indian Country. The Summit is the top event in the U.S. for foreign direct investment (FDI), and I can’t wait to show attendees from across the world that Indian Country is open for business.
In a few weeks, we’ll host out next Native Edge Institute in San Diego. If you’re in the market to elevate your business potential, join our team of experts on May 17 for this one-day business training event. In-person and virtual attendance options are available. We’re also growing! We are currently hiring a grants and contract administrator in our Mesa, Arizona headquarters. If you want to take the next step in your career and play a vital role in our organization’s future, this job is for you.
Finally, we are partnering with Reimagine Main Street to conduct a survey about access to capital and trust in business. It will only take a few minutes of your time, and we hope it helps The National Center and allied organizations develop programming and partnerships that solve one of the biggest challenges businesses in our community.
Thank you for your continued support of The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development. I look forward to seeing you soon.
