December 21, 2020 Durant, OK — Today, The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (The National Center) announced our first Native Edge Institute (NEI) of the new year: NEI Oklahoma: Strengthening the Economic Diversification of Small Businesses. NEI Oklahoma is taking place on January 28, 2021, and it is funded in part by a grant from the United States Business Small Administration. NEI Oklahoma will take place in a hybrid format, with virtual and in-person options available. In-person attendance will be limited to ensure proper social distancing for all attendees. Additionally, the National Center and our host, Choctaw Casino and Resort, will enforce Centers for Disease Control, state, and local public health guidelines for all in-person attendees. NEI Oklahoma is a one-day business training event that will take place in two sessions, morning and afternoon, on January 28, 2021. Each session will feature unique programming, and attendees are highly encouraged to register for both. Register for Session A, 8:30 AM CST – 12:00 PM CST, here, and Session B, 1:15 PM CST – 3:00 PM CST, here. NEIs are one-day, in-person and virtual training events that provide both established and aspiring business owners critical business training. NEIs also connect participants to existing resources available in their region, to go along with one-on-one business counseling/coaching and matchmaking services. Access to the National Center’s unique N2N (Native to Native) business network will be made available to all attendees, as well as the National Center’s in-region procurement and technical assistance training, federal program and procurement coaching, and accessing capital via Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). The mission of the CPCDC is to provide access to capital through loan fund support and business development services to Native Americans designed to expand the capacities of small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. The CPCDC Commercial Lending Program has developed non-traditional mechanisms to deliver capital on Indian lands and provide technical assistance and training.
