December 8, 2020 Reno, Nevada— Today, The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (The National Center) announced Native Edge Institute (NEI) Reno, taking place on December 16 and 17, 2020. Funded by a grant from Wells Fargo, NEI Reno will take place completely virtual and will be available free to all who register. Focused on ‘Strengthening the Economic Diversification of Small Businesses,’ NEI Reno will cover topics such as federal contracting and set-aside programs, COVID-19 recovery, access to capital, and more. NEI Reno will take place over a two-day period on December 16 and 17, 2020, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM PST. Each day will feature unique programming and attendees are highly encouraged to register for both. Register for December 16 here, and December 17 here. NEIs are one-day, in-person or virtual training events that provide both established and aspiring business owners critical business training. NEIs also connect participants to existing resources available in their region, to go along with one-on-one business counseling/coaching and matchmaking services. Access to the National Center’s unique N2N (Native to Native) business network will be made available to all attendees, as well as the National Center’s in-region procurement and technical assistance training, federal program and procurement coaching and accessing capital via Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). Here are just some of the presentations you can expect at NEI Reno:

  • Overview of Small Business Federal Contracting, Set-Aside Programs, Updates, New Rules and Regulations

  • COVID-19 Recovery: Opportunities to Incorporate Economic Resilience into Economic Planning Efforts

“I’m excited to bring our NEIs back to the west – even if virtually – through NEI Reno,” said National Center President and CEO Chris James. “As we all know, this past year has not been an easy one for businesses of all sizes, especially for Native-owned businesses.
