Organization welcomes a new Director of Communications, Director of Business Development and CDFI Program, and Lead Business Development Specialist

MESA, AZ – The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development announced it has recently hired three new staff members to fill key positions within the organization. Alia Hauter joins the National Center as its new Director of Communications, while Chad Marchand has become the new Director of Business Development and the National Center’s Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Program. Yvette Fielder has come aboard as the Lead Business Development Specialist. The National Center is boosting its staff and expertise in advance of the upcoming 10th Anniversary 40 under 40 celebration and Native Edge Institute (NEI) Oklahoma, taking place October 29-30 at the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa. Alia Hauter has over 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing, intergovernmental relations, strategic business development, major event planning and sponsorship, and sports contract negations. Alia founded her own firm, Hauter, LLC, which was a marketing and business development consulting company. She was also Director of Marketing for the Wild Horse Pass Development Authority, where she still serves on the Board of Directors, and was the Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the Gila River Indian Community, of which she is a proud member. Alia received her B.A. in Visual Arts in Advertising from Southwest University. Alia served on the Arizona Tourism and Lodging Association board of directors, has won an Addy for Best Online Campaign, and served as an Executive Producer for one of three Super Bowl XLIX FanFest events in the Phoenix area.

Chad Marchand was previously Project Manager for the University of Arizona Native Nations Climate Adaptation Program. He has also served as the Community Justice Unit Supervisor for the Pima County Attorney’s Office and as a Deputy Prosecutor with the office of the Prosecuting Attorney for the Colville Confederated Tribes, of which he is a member. Chad was a member of the Flinn-Brown inaugural class for the Civic Leadership Institute which is designed to train Arizona’s next leaders and is a 2016 recipient of the National Center’s Native American 40 under 40 award. Born and raised in Omak, Washington, Chad earned both his B.A. in Political Science and History and his MPA from the University of Arizona. He also earned his Graduate Certificate in Terrorism Analysis from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is currently enrolled at Georgetown University and pursuing his master’s Professional Studies in Applied Intelligence (expected graduation in 2019).

Yvette Fielder is an experienced project manager and formerly a consultant to her tribe working with individuals and in workforce, business, and economic development programming. Her experience in various non-profit, state, county, and tribal government programs led her to complete her MPA from the University of Phoenix, where she previously earned her BSM in Management with a minor in Business. Yvette is an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes in North Dakota and proud member of the Waterbuster clan. Yvette is passionate about assisting the next generation of leaders to succeed in business by providing procurement opportunities, technical assistance, and advocating for training and development and entrepreneurship programs. Yvette volunteered for over 10 years and aided the Gila River Indian Community with their foster care system, while also working full-time and raising 5 children.
