Midnight Express will be at National RES Las Vegas 2013

The path leading Midnite Express
to be one of the top singing groups today is an interesting story to tell. Many of the singers were raised in the inner-city urban areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul, far from their respective reservation and tribal communities. Their music is a product of the long history of talented singers and drum groups to come out of the Twin Cities. Students of legendary singers and song-makers such as: Johnny Smith, Jerry Dearly, Dave Campbell, Myron Pyawasit, Eugene RedDay and Gary Holybull, as well as the countless drum groups they have grown up watching and learning from, Midnite Expresshas carried on the ancient tradition of singing and consider it a blessing to make people feel good through their gift of song.

Before the creation of MNX, the members of Midnite Express were already champion singers. When they came together, a sound was created that was unique yet familiar. The diverse background of the singers adds a flavor to their music that is often imitated but never duplicated. The flashy drumbeat along with high- powered, vocals with an old-style feel makes Midnite Express a favorite of many powwow enthusiasts today.
