New National Center President/CEO - Jonathon (Jon) GreyEyes
MESA, AZ - May 6, 2009 - The National Center for
American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) is
pleased to announce that it has named former Boeing
Company specialist Jonathon (Jon) GreyEyes as the new
President/CEO of the organization. GreyEyes assumed the
role of President / CEO on Monday, May 4, 2009.
“We are now seeing a new group of Native American
Leadership across Indian Country, the next generation that
comes from the Self-Determination era and at the National
Center we are taking the next step of elevating economic
self sufficiency. Jon GreyEyes is an excellent example of
that kind of leadership,” said NCAIED Board of Directors
Chairwoman Margo Gray-Proctor. “Jon GreyEyes brings a fresh perspective,
new ideas, and is a top performer from Corporate America. We look forward to
his leadership.”
GreyEyes, a member of the Navajo tribe, received his bachelor’s degree and
MBA in business from Washington State University. GreyEyes hails from an
accomplished family with his mother currently working as a physician’s assistant
in Bisbee, AZ, and his late father, a member of the Red Running into the Water
Clan, was the second Navajo to become a medical doctor.
GreyEyes said of his newly appointed position at The National Center, “I have
great respect and appreciation for the leaders who have gone before me. I look
forward to taking this organization to the next level and fulfilling the mission of
increasing American Indian business opportunities nationwide.”
As the former supplier diversity specialist supporting Boeing’s Research &
Technology Group in Washington, GreyEyes was responsible for creating and
implementing strategies to achieve small business objectives in the research and
development environment for his customers. Before working with Boeing,
GreyEyes was in broadcasting and served as the program director and morning
DJ of the #1 radio station in his market in the Washington area. He was also very
active in his community in Washington where he was a member of the Golden
Key National Honor Society and the Northwest Christian School Board as well
the Treasurer of the Northwest Christian School Building Committee.
